Abstract

This project contains the data, code, and supplementary materials for a bachelor’s thesis investigating interruptions in spoken interaction using televised game-show discourse (Golden Balls final rounds). The study focuses on the identification and quantification of interruptions produced by each speaker during high-stakes interaction. Final-round transcripts were processed using R, where speaker turns were extracted and interruptions were operationalised via overlap markers, cut-offs, and dash-based breaks. Interruption counts were computed per speaker per episode and subsequently merged with episode-level and player-level metadata.
