Abstract

Ukraine in at least absolute terms with the Russians being said to lose 1200-1500 a day, with Ukrainian losses rarely being stated outright yet said to be lower. This in turn means Russian operational art and ability to absorb lessons is deficient compared to Ukrainian/NATO operational art and ability to absorb lessons. On 3 June 2025, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) estimated that Russia suffers 2-5 casualties for every Ukrainian loss. The article and presentation will argue that this view is mistaken.
