Abstract

Kata Kunci : Preferensi, Aedes aegypti, Ovitrap, Atraktan, Kulit Jagung Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease transmitted by female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes as the main vector, which remains a health problem to this day, including in Lampung Province, one of which is in Banjarsari District, Metro City. Safe and environmentally friendly mosquito population control is very important to reduce the transmission rate of this disease. This study aims to determine the preference of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in laying eggs in ovitraps with different attractants. This study is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments used were a combination of sweet corn husk water + yeast, granulated sugar water + yeast, sweet corn husk water + granulated sugar, and tap water as a control. The results showed that female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes preferred to lay eggs on the highest attractant, which was the combination of sweet corn husk water and granulated sugar, with an average of 7± 2,363 eggs, followed by granulated sugar and yeast water with an average of 3± 1,633 eggs, and the lowest was the combination of sweet corn husk water and yeast with 2± 1,258 eggs. The conclusion from these results is that the combination of sweet corn husk water and granulated sugar attractants is preferred by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes for laying their eggs.
