Abstract

Sesame yield remains significantly below its genetic potential due to its complex polygenic nature and high Genotype × Environment Interaction (GEI). While a decade of NGS-based mapping has identified numerous QTLs, their application in breeding is hindered by inconsistency across different populations and environments. Therefore, this systematic review identifies consensus hotspots and stable QTLs for key traits aiding marker assisted selection(MAS).
