Abstract

REFLECTIVE MEMO: I thoroughly enjoyed researching this topic, since it pertains directly to my chosen major .As a mechanical engineering student, discussing both the limitations and the capabilities of modern-day aerospace technology has opened my eyes to a field where the Golden Age may just be the near future .I found it inspiring to enter a conversation of modern day Galileos and Einsteins, discussing the question of whether humanity is synonymous with this planet or merely married to it temporarily while our wings evolve .Perhaps Christopher Nolan's Interstellar said it best: "Mankind was born on Earth .It was never meant to die here ."Since each and every study or interview I encountered contained unfamiliar technical language, I found an acute challenge in formulating my own argument, in a sea of experts with decades of experience .Yet despite the intimidating sources written for a Ph .D .audience, I found this extraterrestrial plunge rewarding .I hope my readers become as captivated as I did, and their minds ponder ideas formerly reserved for Hollywood .
