El vértigo de las formas en los espacios del saber: Por un reequipamiento ontológico en la biblioteca por venir
Abstract
The aim is to make the library of the future visible as a model based on the ideas of Jorge Luis Borges, Umberto Eco, and Jacques Derrida. The proposed method is constructed through a triple framework: literary, curatorial, and ontological, which allows for the selection of four case studies that stand out for their spatial arch-writing: the Central Library by Juan O’Gorman; the Musashino Library by Sou Fujimoto; the Seattle Library by Rem Koolhaas; and the Warburg Library by Gerhard Langmaack. The architectural form is analyzed to organize the space, which, according to Borges, ranges from the labyrinth to the Tower of Babel. The concept of the list present in Eco’s semiology is taken up as a tool for understanding a collection. Finally, the text concludes with a manifesto that articulates the floor plan, elevation, and engraving of the library to come, which responds to the fracture of the digital archive from an ontological re-equipment.
