Abstract

Cometierra, by Dolores Reyes, and La mano que cura, by Lina María Parra, portray the figure of the witch as a strategy of resistance to violence against women in Latin American contexts. This article offers a literary analysis grounded in Gloria Anzaldúa’s decolonial feminist theory, focusing on “la facultad”, understood as a deep awareness present in borderland or marginalized subjects who develop a special sensitivity to resist and transform their reality. This perspective is expanded with Chela Sandoval’s “methodology of the oppressed” and Donna Haraway’s notion of “cyborg consciousness” to interpret women’s experiences as forms of situated knowledge and as opposition to patriarchy and colonialism. The works underscore the importance of collective action among women and the transmission of knowledge across generations as fundamental mechanisms of power and struggle.
