Understanding the impact of leadership communication on public opinion - online experiment
Abstract
This protocol describes a planned randomised controlled trial to be conducted on Prolific Academic. The trial investigates the effects of UK government leadership announcements on public attitudes towards conversion therapy bans targeting asexual people, and tests whether explicit policy argumentation amplifies these effects. The study examines whether different framings of legislation increase recognition of asexuality as a protected orientation and shape beliefs about discrimination and legal protection.
