Que me estoy muriendo de agua: De lecturas interrumpidas y usos desviados del material bibliotecario
Abstract
Against the logic of rational and productive reading, which legitimizes the value of library collections through their utility, this article proposes attending to modes of reading through interruption, through which library materials acquire other forms of agency. Drawing on a personal experience connected to my doctoral research process, the text engages with marginalia, detour, and desire as queer methodological practices that activate the archive from the affective, the anecdotal, and the unproductive. In this process, the library ceases to function as a neutral repository of documents and instead becomes a living space in which encounters with the traces of others return to us, as if in a mirror, the possibility of recognition. Research with these materials is thus configured not as an accumulation of knowledge, but as a situated practice of desires, detours, and reappropriations.
