Abstract

Published in 2012, Los dueños del mundo is the fifth collection of short stories by the Argentinian writer Eduardo Sacheri. As he warns in the prologue titled "Casi la verdad”, the stories contain various anecdotes from his childhood, from the fights to occupy the best soccer field, to the fights in open fields with friends. Sacheri's stories also contain specific geographical references, which allow the different tales to be framed, not only in the town of Castelar – where the author has declared in several interviews to have always lived in – but in specific streets and squares. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the different geographical references and their relationship with the contents of the book in order to unravel how the landscape of the neighborhood shapes the emotional fabric of its memories.
