Abstract
On this special occasion, we republish Prof. Della Casa’s very first article (see Appendix), which was devoted to a single puzzling nipātana rule of the Aṣṭādhyāyī (henceforth abbreviated as A). Our purpose is to commemorate his keen interest in technical literature and acknowledge the innovative nature of his approach to Pāṇini’s grammar.
