Abstract

This article explores the possible shifts and ambivalences of classification and meaning systems through the figure of the misplaced or relocated object. Using an interdisciplinary approach (through authors such as Mario Montalbetti, Aby Warburg, Dominique Laporte, etc.), the text articulates material and conceptual examples, proposing an approach to how the mutability of forms and contexts challenges closed models of interpretation and order, inviting us to think about the provisional nature of identity and language in everyday, artistic or linguistic processes. It proposes a reflection on the creative possibilities that arise at the margins of categorisation, or when these categories are assumed to be provisional. The analysis suggests that both artistic practice and theoretical criticism benefit from a flexible attitude towards semantic migration and disorientation, promoting the idea of a library that, beyond its spatial limitations, focuses on relationships rather than exhaustion.
