La relación entre el sexismo ambivalente y la aceptación de los mitos de la violencia sexual
Abstract
This study analyzes the relationship between Ambivalent Sexism -consisting of Hostile Sexism and Benevolent Sexism-and the acceptance of sexual violence myths in the general population. Through a sample of 90 people (58 women and 32 men) was used, the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (ASI) and the Acceptance of Modern Myths About Sexual Aggression Scale (AMMSA) were applied. The results show a positive and significant correlation Ambivalent Sexism and the acceptance of these myths, with Hostile Sexism being thebest predictor. Significant gender differences were also found, with higher scores in men on both variables, and an inverse relationship between age and levels of sexism and myths acceptance. Thus, it is confirmed that attitudes are closely linked to the normalization of sexual violence. These findings reinforce the need for preventive interventions focused on deconstructing sexist beliefs and myths that perpetuate this form of violence, especially among the youngest.
