L'influenza "spagnola" in Sicilia (1918-1919) tra emergenza sanitaria, risposta istituzionale e opinione popolare
Abstract
EnThis paper aims to assess the impact of the spread of the "Spanish" flu in a region, Sicily, seemingly peripheral to the Italy of the trenches, yet so heavily engaged in the war effort that it has been described as "a frontier without trenches." Attention is focused on the health policies and prophylaxis implemented to address the emergency in the island's various provincial areas, while also examining the complex set of attitudes, practices, and opinions adopted by popular segments.
