Abstract

Kata Kunci: antihipertensi; mean arterial pressure; monoterapi; terapi kombinasi Background: Hypertension is one of the cardiovascular diseases with high prevalence globally and is a major cause of morbidity and premature mortality. Mean arterial pressure (MAP) is an important parameter in assessing tissue perfusion and the success of antihypertensive therapy. This study aims to determine the comparison of monotherapy and combination antihypertensive therapy on mean arterial pressure in hypertensive patients at the Tanjung Sari Natar Community Health Center. Methode: This study used a cross-sectional analytic design conducted in the working area of the Tanjung Sari Natar Community Health Center during the PROLANIS activity. There were 65 respondents in this study, selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was conducted using primary data by measuring blood pressure directly three times and conducting interviews to determine the number of antihypertensive drugs used by respondents and the patients' diseases other than hypertension. Data analysis in this study used the independent t-test. Results: The monotherapy group had a mean MAP of 106.98±12.09 mmHg. The combination therapy group had a mean MAP of 115.15±14.32 mmHg. This indicates that the monotherapy group had a lower mean MAP compared to the combination therapy group. Conclusion: There is a significant difference between the use of monotherapy and combination therapy for antihypertension on MAP in hypertensive patients at the Tanjung Sari Natar Community Health Center. Keywords: antihypertensive; mean arterial pressure; monotherapy, combination therapy
