Abstract

Abstract- 3I/ATLAS, the third known interstellar object to visit our solar system,it offers a unique opportunity to study the composition and evolution of comets from beyond our cosmic neighborhood. It discovered on July 1, 2025, this comet has been extensively observed by various space missions and ground based telescopes, by revealing its unusual characteristics, such as a high carbon dioxide to water ratio and nickel rich gas emissions. With a diameter estimated to be between 1,000 feet and 3.5 miles, 3I/ATLAS is likely a remnant of a distant planetary system, providing valuable insights into the formation and evolution of our galaxy. This review summarizes the current understanding of 3I/ATLAS,by highlighting its composition, trajectory and significance in the context of interstellar comet research.
