Calidad percibida por pacientes y familiares en una Unidad de Hospitalización Domiciliaria de Psiquiatría
Abstract
Home hospitalization in mental health has emerged as a viable alternative to inpatient admission, supported by bioethical, clinical, economic, and legal arguments. Despite its significant advantages, its development remains slow, and there is an inadequate provision of intensive acute care programs within the community. Therefore, identifying areas for improvement in home-based psychiatric care is crucial to strengthening mental health services. This study aims to assess the perceived quality of care provided to patients and their relatives in the Home Hospitalization Units of the Psychiatry and Mental Health Institute at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón (HGUGM) and to examine its relationship with sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. A cross-sectional, quantitative descriptive study will be conducted. Data collection will involve an ad-hoc questionnaire for sociodemographic and clinical variables, along with the SATISFAD-10 questionnaire as the primary measurement tool. The SATISFAD-10 scale has been validated and adapted to the Spanish context, demonstrating high reliability and internal consistency.
