Unveiling BEBOP-3b:Review on Circumbinary Giant Planet on an Eccentric Orbit
Abstract
BEBOP-3b is a recently discovered circumbinary giant planet, orbiting a binary star system with a period of 550 days and an eccentricity of 0.25. With a mass of 0.56 M_Jup, this planet is the first radial velocity detection of a previously unknown circumbinary system. The discovery of BEBOP-3b provides valuable insights into planet formation and migration models, particularly in the context of close binary systems. This planet's unique characteristics, such as its long period and high eccentricity, make it an interesting target for further study. The BEBOP survey, which discovered BEBOP-3b, it aims to detect circumbinary exoplanets using radial velocities, by providing a new perspective on planetary systems orbiting close binaries.
