Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of beach sand from Cilacap as fine aggregate on the Marshall properties and self-healing ability of Latasir Class B mixture. The beach sand used contains a high iron sand content and was tested in substitution variations of 0%, 10%, 15%, and 25% of the total fine aggregate. The properties Marshall tests include stability, flow, Marshall Quotient (MQ), Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), and Void Filled With Asphalt (VFWA). Meanwhile, the self-healing test was conducted using microwave heating at durations of 40, 60, and 80 seconds. The results showed that the addition of beach sand decreased the stability and Marshall Quotient values but still met the Bina Marga specifications at the 25% level. The highest self-healing ability was recorded at a 10% beach sand content with a 60-second heating duration, reaching 22%. The study concludes that the use of beach sand as a fine aggregate is acceptable at certain levels, with a positive effect on the self-healing ability of Latasir Class B mixtures.
