Abstract

Reflective Memo: It was difficult at first to choose a topic for my "claim essay" in English 145.The assignment was very open-ended, which is something I wasn't very used to as a writer coming fresh out of high school. My previous essay in that class was a little more on the humorous side, and that was something I wanted to incorporate into this work.In arguing for an end to the "tampon tax, " I was able to discuss a facet in the fight for gender equality not often talked about, while also having a little fun highlighting how society views women and their periods towards the end of the essay.I hope you enjoy!
