Abstract
The diploma thesis focuses on the development of project documentation for the construction of a new library building. The building is located in the town of Stupava, Malacky District, Bratislava Region. It consists of one underground floor and three above-ground floors, the topmost of which is recessed. The first floor includes a children's section, a café, a multifunctional hall, and an exhibition space. The second floor contains an adult section, study rooms and offices for staff. The third above-ground floor features a fiction and magazines section, along with two spacious terraces. In the underground there is a storage area and an archive. The new building is designed with a flat vegetated roof and a reinforced concrete skeletal structural system. Heating and hot water will be provided by a heat pump, and photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof. Rainwater will be collected in a storage tank and subsequently used for irrigating the garden and park surrounding the library building. The diploma thesis includes preparatory work, site plans, architectural and structural solutions, construction and structural design, a fire safety assessment, and a building physics.
