Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on the spiritual and ethical aspects of dying. We usually focus our attention on dying in our lives when it directly affects us or someone around us. There will be a turning point, which is usually an irreversible diagnosis, an injury or even a reluctance to continue living. The dying person begins to analyze his life so far, he has various wishes that are important to him and will help provide him with comfort and reconciliation. The wishes and needs of the dying person are not always in line with the feelings and possibilities of the family, and various dilemmas arise. The aim of the thesis is to provide a view of dying as an important part of human existence and to emphasize the importance of respect and human dignity. At the end of the work, recommendations will be offered for social workers on how to effectively provide clients with care and support during this sensitive period.
