DESCRIPTION AND CALCULATIONS FOR A MULTIPHASE ROCKET. A starting guide to aeronautics’ calculations programming of aerospace simulations.
Abstract
A ~25-page monograph exploring how to model a multiphase rocket using only the fundamental tools typically taught in the classroom: classical mechanics, basic calculus, and introductory numerical methods. The goal behind it was to illustrate how early NASA and ESA engineers approached these problems, the assumptions they made, the tools available at the time, and how physical intuition and approximation played a key role in the process.
