Abstract

This research addressed job profiles and gender equity in regional sports organizations (SOs) in Colombia. The study was developed under a Sequential Mixed Approach, with a descriptive scope. The final effective sample was composed of the executives and formal documents of Indeportes Antioquia, the Secretary of Sports and Recreation of Caldas, and the Departmental Secretary of Sport, Recreation and Culture of Risaralda. The results indicate that, although the studied organizations have structured job profiles and functional manuals to guide administrative management, these are sometimes too broad or generic, limiting the correct definition of the necessary competencies for the suitable occupation of positions. Regarding gender equity, there is significant progress in the formal equality of opportunities in hiring and remuneration, driven by compliance with Law 581 of 2000 (Quota Law). However, the study confirms that male presence still prevails in decision-making and management positions (80% men vs. 20% women in the executive sample), which constitutes the main challenge. Challenges persist in the institutional response capacity to gender violence and in overcoming cultural stereotypes in the sports sector.
