An Umbrella Review of Interventions to Support Kinship Care within Family-Based Alternative Care Systems in Low- and Middle-Income Countries
Abstract
This rapid umbrella review will include published reviews (including meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and meta-syntheses of qualitative studies) on interventions, programmes, and/or services provided to support kinship carers providing care to children in low and middle-income countries (LMIC). This review is part of a larger project to identify evidence-based solutions for strengthening kinship care for children, by generating a comprehensive synthesis of current evidence and evidence gaps from LMIC contexts relevant for informing policy and programming solutions for family based alternative care (FBAC) systems strengthening. The primary objects of this umbrella review are: 1. To assess the current evidence with respect to LMICs, highlighting areas of strength, inconsistency, and absence 2. To inform the design of subsequent domain-specific reviews
