MycetOMICS:Leveraging an omics-based approach to enhance diagnostics, treatment, and our understanding of mycetoma

It is clear that improvements in the management of eumycetoma are urgently needed. With the overall aim to contribute to better treatment modalities for patients with eumycetoma, in this thesis I focused on the following three approaches: 1. Improve the molecular identification of eumycetoma causative agents in order to guide clinical decision making and ensure early appropriate treatment. 2. Improve the understanding of the eumycetoma disease development and identify novel drug treatment targets. 3. Identify novel drugs with activity against eumycetoma causative agents.
