Abstract

This study was preregistered at the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS; DRKS00036895). German title of registered study: Studie zur intensitätsabhängigen psychophysiologischen Beanspruchung auf aktuell empfohlene, energieäquivalente Trainingsdosierungen in normal- und übergewichtigen Personen mit Bewegungsmangel Recruitment status: Recruitment completed, study completed. Registration date in DRKS: June 5, 2025 Last update in DRKS: December 12, 2025 Registration type: Retrospective The aim of this study is to record intensity-dependent physiological deviations, controlling for moderating individual preferences and tolerances for intensive training and BMI-specific between-group effects on percepts during exercise, and their predicted influence on future exercise behavior. A holistic and interdisciplinary understanding will allow for the individualization of general training recommendations and the promotion of an active lifestyle.
