Age-related decline of cognitive control
Abstract
Cognitive control decline firstly with aging. The previous research provides mixed results for age-related decline of cognitive control. It remains unclear whether the decreased performance in tasks of cognitive control is due to the general slowing with aging or impairment in cognitive control per se. The current study developed a novel compound task of cognitive control to explore the underlying cognitive processes of age-related decline using the Hierarchical Drift Diffusion Model (HDDM).
