Abstract

Scientific goal of the study (utilizing mixed methods) is to (1) operationalize and empirically validate two constructs related to struggling with a Critical Life Event (CLE): the Positive Disintegration (Dąbrowski, 1967, 1972, 1979, 1996) and Transition Cycle (Hopson, 1981). As a result, there will be developed: (A) the Positive Disintegration Questionnaire, i.e., a quantitative tool for assessing adult personality development following a CLE and (B) the Transition Stage Questionnaire, i.e., a quantitative tools for screening and identifying the stage of transition and (2) test the model of a comprehensive Model of Positive Disintegration through the Stages Accompanying Transition Following CLE.
