Critique of arXiv:2602.00773 — Missing Assumptions on Agency and User Projection
Abstract
This project identifies two foundational omissions in arXiv:2602.00773: (1) the incorrect treatment of AI as possessing agency, and (2) the lack of any model for user-side subject establishment (projection, dependency, autonomy). Without these assumptions, the paper fails to distinguish projection-based reactions from simple UX dissatisfaction and ends up describing low-subject-establishment responses as if they were genuine relational attachment.
