Comportamiento de oso melero (Tamandua tetradactyla) ex situ: enriquecimiento ambiental, uso de espacio y elección de alimento
Abstract
Behavior was monitored using infrared video cameras located inside each enclosure, and recorded by a digital video-recorder. Focal sampling was applied to assess the behavior of each lesser anteater. Two recording rules were applied: a) continuous recording only for feeding, measuring the duration of each feeding event (seconds) and b) time sampling (instantaneous sampling): the other behaviors were sampled at 5-minute intervals, using an adaptation of the instantaneous sampling method.
