La crisis ambiental y el vacío de sentido: Un análisis desde la espiritualidad humana y una perspectiva agroecológica.
Abstract
There is a close relationship between food, environment, and spirituality. The current environmental crisisis intrinsically linked to the industrialized agri-food system and a profound underlying spiritual crisis. Theanalysis focuses on four worldviews and their impact on the ways in which food is produced and our relationshipwith nature: theorganic view(characterized by a sacred relationship with the different elements of the planet),themechanical view(green revolution, focused on domination and production), and theeconomic worldview(transgenesis), which, driven by the market paradigm, exacerbates the model of exploitation of nature.Theholistic or systemic worldviewis proposed, whose practical expression is agroecology. This perspectiveseeks to reconfigure the broken relationships between society and nature. Spirituality is understood here asthe constitutive dimension of the human being, which contributes to defining their nature and purpose, inturn giving them a consciousness that enables them to construct meaning in life; spirituality is transversal tohuman existence as a provider of horizon and hope. The article concludes that overcoming the environmental crisis requires a radical transformation of thinkingand a progressive awareness of the potential of spirituality as a dynamic force that drives existence.
