Nebrija y los estudios bíblicos. Hacia una reconstrucción de la perdida Secunda quinquagena
Abstract
The culmination of Nebrija’s biblical studies is the work entitled Tertia quinquagena (1516), a collection of fifty critical annotations on the Latin text of the Bible. The title refers to the fact that its author attempted to publish the work on two previous occasions, both of which were frustrated for various reasons. However, we know the index of the fifty annotations of what was the Secunda quinquagena, announced in 1507, in a list that does not entirely coincide with what was published in 1516. This article focuses on the seven entries from 1507 that were not included in the 1516 final edition. With the support of the rest of Nebrija’s work and other instruments, such as Cisneros’ Polyglot Bible, we attempt to reconstruct these lost annotations.
