Immune–Metabolic Predictors of Affective State
Abstract
This project contains a series of manuscripts examining the hypothesis that affective states reflect the brain’s perception of immune and metabolic signals. The work investigates whether inflammatory markers (e.g., C-reactive protein, eosinophils) and metabolic variables (e.g., glucose) jointly predict transitions between anxiety, depression, and homeostatic states. The project includes theoretical models, analyses of clinical datasets, and longitudinal physiological tracking. All work is conducted as an independent open-science research program with the goal of developing falsifiable, biologically grounded models of emotion and affective state transitions.
