Correction of Muscle Asymmetries
Abstract
Title: Correction of Muscle Asymmetries Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to determine the degree of muscle asymmetries in the human body in athletes engaged in one-sided sports, specifically tennis and floorball, and to compare the differences between the dominant and non-dominant sides of the body. At the same time, the aim of the thesis was to compare the level of muscle asymmetries between the two sports and to evaluate whether the differences found reach values that are considered potentially risky in the specialized literature. Another objective was to discuss the possible relationship between the presence of muscle asymmetries and an increased risk of musculoskeletal injuries in the context of long-term unilateral sports load based on specialized literature. Methods: The research was conducted in the form of quantitative field testing. The research sample consisted of 20 men under the age of 45 who have been playing tennis or floorball at a competitive level for at least 10 years. The evaluation focused on comparing the dominant and non-dominant sides of the body in terms of muscle strength, functional stability, and range of motion. Results: The results showed the presence of muscle asymmetries in both sports groups studied. In terms of functional stability and range of...
