Competency profile of manager of adult education

The diploma thesis deals with the role and competency model of the adult education manager. The aim of this thesis is to compare the competency models of adult education managers and to propose an optimal competency model and educational program for the role of adult education manager. The theoretical part focuses on aspects of education management and further defines the issue of key concepts such as competencies and key competencies. The thesis also describes the position of an adult education manager, including a specification of the required qualities and work activities. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to competency models, more precisely their definition, types and creation. In the empirical part, a qualitative content analysis is used to compare three competency models of adult education managers from three different countries. By comparing competency models, an optimal proposal of the adult education manager is created, which is verified and supplemented with competencies according to the opinions of adult education managers.
