Abstract

Restorative clinicians frequently encounter difficulties when managing patients with worn dentition. Diagnosis and treatment planning for these cases necessitate a comprehensive assessment of multiple factors such as causative factors, esthetic concerns, arch alignment, and functionality, but also prognosis, preventive measures, and long-term follow-up. Although significant progress has been made in contemporary dentistry in terms of prevention, periodontal maintenance, and preservation of natural teeth, there has been a noticeable rise in the number of patients suffering from tooth wear. Consequently, it is essential for dental professionals to recognize premature indications of potential long-term irreversible harm to the teeth, as this enables early prevention and appropriate intervention. Tooth wear may necessitate comprehensive full-mouth restoration to rectify compromised appearance, occlusal function, and continuous loss of occlusal height, with the goal of achieving an optimal and lasting outcome. Nonetheless, financial constraints frequently act as an obstacle to the possibility of extensive reconstructive treatment, particularly necessary when the restorative process is prolonged over multiple years, potentially compromising esthetics and occlusal alignment. This paper aims to present a hybrid option of minimally invasive treatment for patients with tooth wear, with a good prognosis.
