Giuseppe il giusto nello Zohar: una politica della mistica?
Abstract
The article deals with the figure of Joseph in the Sefer ha-Zohar and with some reflexes of this mystical reading in the Christian Kabbalah of the Renaissance. The main identification suggested in the Zohar is between Joseph and the Tree of Life, especially with the Sefirah Yes, but at the same time, the interpreter of dreams and politically skilled governor of Egypt is considered an ideal model for political authority. The entanglement of mysticism and politics, on the one hand, and of the two dimensions of contemplation and action in shaping the perfect monarch are analysed historically from the peculiar perspective of history of interpretations.
