Abstract

General practice is a cornerstone of the healthcare system in Denmark, providing primary care services to most of the population. However, the evolving healthcare landscape brings significant challenges for both patients, general practitioners, researchers, and other healthcare practitioners in the context of general practice. Chronic diseases, an aging population, and system-level inefficiencies all contribute to increasing demands on general practice. Research in general practice should focus on the issues that matter most to both patients and practitioners. Therefore, this project seeks to address this need by establishing key challenges as research priorities in general practice. Using a modified Priority Setting Methodology, we aim to identify both challenges and research priorities that will inform the key future research initiatives in general practice. These research priorities will be based on a shared understanding, informed by the perspectives of researchers, patients, general practitioners, and clinic staff working in the context of general practice in Denmark.
