Abstract

The World Health Organisation (WHO, 2010) defined Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) as “when multiple health workers from different professional backgrounds provide comprehensive services by working with patients, their families, carers, and communities to deliver the highest quality of care across settings” (p.13) and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA, 2016) registered nurse standard for practice number 2 states that it is a requirement for a registered nurse that they “participate in and/or leads collaborative practice” (p.4). However what actually Interprofessional Education (IPE) opportunities and experiences are nursing students in Australia experiencing during their undergraduate clinical placements to facilitate this as a registered nurse?
