Abstract

Autistic and other Neurodivergent commonly experience heightened sensitivity to sensory input. Although this means some sensory input can be highly distressing, sensory input can also be experienced as extremely enjoyable - often described outside of research as 'sensory joy'. In this project, we aim to elucidate experiences of Autistic and Neurodivergent sensory joy and to understand more about the benefits and how it can be encouraged and supported.
