Patient Dignity Index (PDIx): Development of a Brief Universal Measure to Quantify Dignity in Clinical Care
Abstract
Dignity is a core value in healthcare but lacks a brief, universal instrument for routine measurement. The Patient Dignity Index (PDIx) is an 8‑item patient‑reported measure developed through literature review, stakeholder workshops, and cognitive interviews. This OSF project hosts the manuscript draft, scoring manual, cognitive interview guide, and a planned multi‑phase validation protocol. The preprint is posted for community feedback.
