Not Alone

Artist's Note: This series was part of a final assignment for my black and white photography class.For each photograph, I asked the person, "What is the meanest thing someone has said to you?"They wrote their answers on transparencies and I printed their words on top of their portraits.I titled this piece "Not Alone" because I wanted people to know that even though you might feel isolated when bullied, others have been in your position, and you are truly not alone.At first it was challenging to get people to share, but as I moved forward with the project, more and more people were willing to contribute because they knew they were not alone.
