How Many More?
Abstract
Reflective Memo: Writing this essay meant a lot to me because I felt like I was giving a voice to those who are typically overlooked by society. Not only is this an important issue that deserves more exposure, but also it is especially significant to me because I could have easily been a statistic on a page in someone else's essay. It is time that equal treatment becomes a priority in all our lives and that we create a truly tolerant environment for all kinds of people to feel comfortable with who they are. This is my attempt to begin that transition by raising awareness about the treatment of the LGBT community.love you mom and dad.because even though you did not undertand maybe you loved me and said I was fine and you would help me.butat school it was like being in hell.Iwas burning in hell eery day.I dould not tell you edeverythin thatwas happening.I did not want you to worryaboyut me.I coulnd not do that do you.I hope that youwill forgive me.plese forgive me…Don't be sad.You wont have a faggot son anymore. So you will be happy. No more burden for you.Tell everyone I got sick or something it doesn't matter I just cant go on one day more I cannot fucking go on.(qtd. in Caruso) Look HereLearn more about how you can supportLGBT equal rights at the Human Rights Campaign website: http://www.hrc.org
