Glazed Rain
Abstract
PRARIE SURREALISM: Rain is one of the defining forces of the prairie landscape. It nourishes crops, replenishes rivers, and shapes the rhythms of life across the northern plains. In Glazed Rain, this familiar phenomenon is transformed into a vertical constellation of ceramic droplets suspended between earth and sky. But upon careful observation, the drops become more than weather. They become a metaphor for ideas: individual discoveries falling from many directions, gathering into larger currents of knowledge. The installation reminds us that breakthroughs rarely emerge in isolation. Like drops in a storm, they accumulate, connect, and ultimately reshape the landscape. Description: A set of 17 blue and green ceramic raindrops of varying sizes and patterns with detailed textures.
