Inteligencia artificial en la enseñanza del inglés médico: hacia una didáctica personalizada y crítica
Abstract
Introduction: Mastery of the English language constitutes a key element in the training of medical professionals, enabling them to face the current challenges of society and the healthcare system. The application of artificial intelligence holds great potential for achieving these goals. Objective: To conduct a critical-reflective analysis regarding the role played by artificial intelligence in the English language teaching-learning process, specifically within the context of medical education. Methods: A literature review was conducted to develop a critical and reflective content analysis. Doctoral theses, master's theses, original articles, and review articles published between 2021 and 2025 in SciELO, Google Scholar, Infomed, among other sources, were considered during the period from September 2024 to July 2025. Once studies were preselected, titles and abstracts were read to verify their relevance to the topic in question. Development: The incorporation of artificial intelligence in Cuban medical education allows for personalized learning, provides immediate feedback, and expands access to educational resources. For the English language teaching-learning process, it represents valuable pedagogical support by facilitating content adaptation, improving interaction with students, and enriching the educational environment. Conclusions: Artificial intelligence emerges as an invaluable tool for teaching English in the field of medical sciences by enhancing the personalization of learning, immediate feedback, and access to authentic and adaptive resources.
