Abstract

The article discusses the inclusion of the extracurricular activity course "The Science of Travel" in grades 5 education program. The course involves the integration of learning and travelling (excursions) to solve the tasks defined by the programs. The proposed form of project learning makes it possible to reinforce theoretical material with practical knowledge gained at real sites of cultural and historical heritage of Russia. Especially relevant in the context of modern digitalization trends is the introduction into the course structure of teaching students how to use artificial intelligence to formulate hypotheses, generate images and create presentations. It is important to teach schoolchildren, for whom the means of digitalization are close from birth, to use them competently in such a way that they become auxiliary tools, and not replace human intelligence. The result of this approach is the formation of personally significant qualities in the process of forming universal (metasubject) competencies; fostering social responsibility through familiarization with cultural heritage, the formation of competencies in the use of information and communication technologies.
