The Seven Pillars of architecture
Abstract
The theme of this National Conference is “Architect in Time: Transform – Transcend –Prosper.” It is a very powerful theme. Architecture is time, and architecture exists within time. It has transcendence; it remains even when we are no longer here. I do not wish, in this text, to present a model to be followed. I would simply like to add some reflections. Architecture is embedded in time. We live in a specific moment, within a particular society and economy, facing climate-related challenges that are specific of our time. We must respond to these challenges professionally, but also critically and proactively.
