Em busca de justiça socioambiental: Narrativas e memórias de jovens ambientalistas no Brasil
Abstract
In this research, the insertion of young people in environmental movements is understood based on their life stories. Based on a digital questionnaire, we drew up a corporate profile of people between 15 and 29 years old who declared that they participated in socio-environmental collectives. In the next phase, four young activists from these collectives were selected for narrative interviews, which sought to investigate possible relationships between their life stories and militancy. We note that the socio-environmental struggle is a plural and diverse field, which reflects the diversity of young people. The statements indicate that formal education and family experiences that generate affective memories can play a significant role in the involvement of youth with socio-environmental causes. The research revealed that these young people share a desire for socio-environmental justice, and see politics as an instrument of social and personal transformation. It is concluded that socio-environmental movements play a formative and promoting role in environmental education, having as their horizon the fight for socio-environmental and climate justice and overcoming all exploitation and oppression.
