Abstract

This project brings together research on affect shift dynamics and their significance for psychological well-being. Using ecological momentary assessment and computational methods, we investigate the prevalence and features of affective bistability — the tendency to alternate between positive and negative affective states — and develop metrics to quantify affect shifts as predictors of well-being outcomes. Components include empirical studies, methodological work, and validation studies conducted across samples from different countries.
